Isn’t it love that makes a family?

by The Big E on August 22, 2012 · 1 comment

Carter Gustafson decided to write a letter to Minnesotans. He’s 8 (and 3/4 years old) and is worried about his [sic] famliy because he has two Moms. According to City Pages his letter first appeared on NOH8 campaign’s Facebook page.

I love is letter. It gets straight to the heart of the matter as only a child can.

Dear Minnesotans,
I’m writing this letter because I have two moms and I want to talk about the gay marriage vote.
I’ve been asking my moms a lot of questions about the vote. Here are some of them:
1. Why dose it matter if it’s a woman and a woman or a man and a women? What’s the difference?
2. If this passes, can we still be a famliy?
3. Since this is illegal can my moms get arrested? this means a lot to me because I love my moms!
who makes these laws because they don’t make sense to me. for example, isn’t it love that makes a famliy? I hope one day my moms can get married!
Please help by voting no!
Sincerely,
Carter Gustafson
age 8 and 3/4
Minneapolis

Hopefully the right wing nut jobs don’t find out where this boy lives and start terrorizing him and his “famliy.”

First,
Someone need to explain that all the Amendment does is put in the constitution what is already Minnesota law.
So the nonsense about mom getting arrested is just that.
Plus you live in Minneapolis, they don’t seem to arrest anyone who breaks the law so no worries.

As for question 1, hopefully someone will get that boy to a biology class or maybe a man can explain the difference to him.

And a family is not just about love.

Otherwise the DFL can set up joint rest stop/marriage drive throughtto have their representatives marrying 16 year old boys.
